Expanded Functions Dental Assistant / Clinical Treatment Coordinator Boutique Dental Practice | Savannah, GA Monday–Thursday | $25–$30/hour based on experience Abercorn Dental is seeking an experienced Expanded Functions Dental Assistant who is ready to become a true clinical partner to the doctor. This is not a basic dental assisting position. We are a growing boutique dental practice specializing in complex restorative dentistry, dental implants, smile makeovers, and comprehensive patient care . We are looking for someone with strong clinical experience who can help take a case from diagnosis and treatment planning through preparation, coordination, and completion. The ideal candidate is highly organized, clinically sharp, confident with patients, and naturally thinks several steps ahead. You take pride in your work, pay attention to the details, and continually invest in improving your skills. What You’ll Do Assist the doctor chairside during complex restorative, implant, cosmetic, and general dental procedures Serve as the doctor's clinical right hand , anticipating what is needed before, during, and after treatment Help work up and organize complex patient cases Assist with treatment planning and case sequencing Review charts, photographs, radiographs, scans, and clinical information to make sure cases are prepared for the doctor Coordinate cases with dental laboratories and outside specialists Help plan implant cases and ensure the appropriate implants, components, restorative parts, surgical supplies, and materials are ordered and available Track laboratory cases, implant components, and case-specific materials from planning through delivery Help present treatment and reinforce the doctor's recommendations with patients Communicate confidently with patients about treatment, value, expectations, and next steps Help patients feel comfortable and excited about moving forward with treatment Serve as a backup Treatment Coordinator when needed, including treatment presentation, financial discussions, scheduling, and follow-up Take high-quality diagnostic radiographs, photographs, and digital scans Perform expanded functions within your training and Georgia regulations Maintain exceptionally organized, stocked, and prepared operatories Help improve clinical systems and workflows as the practice continues to grow Who We’re Looking For Minimum 3 years of dental assisting experience Expanded Functions training and strong clinical skills Experience with implant, restorative, cosmetic, or comprehensive dentistry strongly preferred Previous treatment coordination or treatment presentation experience preferred Comfortable discussing treatment and helping patients make decisions about care Able to understand a treatment plan and think through what will be required to complete it Extremely organized and detail-oriented Strong communication and interpersonal skills Dependable, self-motivated, and able to take ownership of responsibilities Able to anticipate the doctor's needs rather than waiting to be told what to do Interested in continuing education and becoming better at your craft Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for a boutique patient experience Team-oriented with a positive, solutions-focused attitude What You’ll Love About This Role This position is ideal for an experienced assistant who wants more responsibility, greater involvement in patient care, and a larger role in helping build an exceptional dental practice .
