The Role We're looking for a motivated Expanded Function Dental Assistant Maryland Licensed to join our team across two locations: Damascus, MD and Frederick, MD. This is a hands-on, rewarding role where no two days are exactly alike. Schedule Tuesday: Damascus, 8am–5pm Wednesday: Damascus, 10am–6pm Thursday: Frederick, 8am–5pm Friday: Damascus, 8am–3pm One Saturday per month: 8am–12pm Mondays: Frederick location or hospital, as needed What You'll Do In addition to typical Dental Assistant duties an expanded function Dental assitant may perform additional duties as allowed by the Maryland state board. A brief list is given below Coronal polishing Applying fluoride Applying silver diamine fluoride (SDF) Applying sealants Chair-side assistance during routine recall appointments, sedations, and operative procedures — both in-office and in the hospital setting Build genuine rapport with patients and parents to ensure a positive, comfortable experience Accurately enter clinical notes and become proficient in OpenDental software Perform sterilization, instrument cleaning, and tray setup to keep operations running smoothly Communicate clearly and warmly with families throughout their visit What We're Looking For Maryland Certified Expanded Functions Dental Assistant license Prior EFDA experience is required, even for entry-level applicants Ability to pass a thorough background check for hospital credentialing Reliable transportation to both the Damascus and Frederick locations Bonus Points For Experience with OpenDental software Prior pediatric dental assisting experience and X-ray experience with children Ability to speak and communicate effectively with parents and patients in spanish What We Offer Sick time after 90-day probationary period Paid time off for full-time employees after 1 year 401(k) with employer matching after 6 months Medical, dental, and vision coverage available for full-time employees after the applicable wait period Performance bonus plans A supportive, mission-driven team culture where your work truly matters Join us and help shape the next generation's relationship with their oral health.
