Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by taking and recording vital signs, medical history, and dental examinations. Assist in diagnosing oral health issues through detailed patient evaluations and communicate findings to the dentist. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary choices, and preventive practices to maintain healthy teeth and gums. Manage patient records accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support the dental team during procedures like oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and periodontics as needed. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments, update medical documentation, and ensure smooth patient flow throughout the clinic. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental clinic or office environment. Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate documentation and record keeping. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding, HIPAA compliance, and medical documentation standards. Familiarity with general dentistry procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and periodontics. Ability to assess patient needs effectively through clinical skills like taking vital signs and performing thorough dental examinations. Strong understanding of dental assisting techniques combined with excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively. Experience working with diverse patient populations while maintaining professionalism and compassion in all interactions.
