Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Peabody, MA

Dental Assistant â Coastal Dental Arts (Peabody, MA) Watch this short video from our Team: https://youtube.com/shorts/g-Z0DcClh64 At Coastal Dental Arts, we believe that exceptional dentistry is only half the battle. The other half is making sure a patient who has avoided the dentist for ten years feels safe enough to sit down in the chair â and comes back. We are seeking a calm, fast-moving, deeply reliable Dental Assistant to join our clinical team. This is not a suction-and-restock job. In this role, you are the patient's anchor. You are the person whose steady presence turns white-knuckle grip into a deep breath, whose setup is flawless before the doctor sits down, and whose sterilization discipline is never, ever in question. Why This Role Exists (The Real "Why") Most of our patients are not "easy" cases. Many of them are terrified. Many have put off care for years because of a bad experience somewhere else. That is why we practice the way we do â IV sedation, longer appointments, and a schedule built for calm. We are not a mill. We do not run three chairs at a sprint and hope nobody notices. When this role is done well: Anxious patients relax, because the person next to them is unhurried and unbothered. The doctor never has to ask for an instrument twice, because it's already in hand. Rooms turn over quickly and correctly â never one at the expense of the other. Sterilization and infection control are airtight, every single day, with no shortcuts and no reminders needed. Surgical and sedation days run on rails, so the clinical team can focus entirely on the patient in front of them. Your job is to remove every ounce of friction â clinical and emotional â between our patients and the life-changing care our doctors provide. What You Will Do Chairside Assisting: Four-handed assisting across restorative, crown & bridge, and hygiene support. Anticipate the next step before you're asked. Keep the patient informed and comfortable throughout. Surgical & Sedation Support: Assist on implant and full arch surgical days and IV sedation cases â surgical setup, monitoring support, and meticulous chain-of-custody on instrumentation. (If you haven't done this yet, we will train you.) Anxiety-Soothing Chairside Care: Read the room. Notice the shallow breathing, the tight shoulders, the person who goes quiet. Know when to explain, when to reassure, and when to just be still and present. Sterilization & Infection Control: Own the instrument cycle end-to-end â processing, spore testing, logs, and operatory turnover. Our standard is inspection-ready at any hour, not just when someone's watching. Digital Workflow: Take diagnostic radiographs, capture clinical photos, and run intraoral scans. Keep clinical notes and imaging clean and complete so nothing gets lost between the chair and the lab. Room & Inventory Readiness: Stock, set up, and reset. Flag supply issues before they become a problem in the middle of a case. Who You Are Experience with chairside assisting, radiology certification (or eligibility), and comfort with digital scanning are highly preferred â but we will train the right person. Prior surgical or sedation experience is a strong plus, not a requirement. You are someone who: Moves Fast Without Getting Sloppy: You understand that speed and thoroughness are not a trade-off. You've built systems so you can have both. Has a Steady Nervous System: When a case gets complicated or a patient gets scared, you get calmer, not louder. Your energy is the room's energy. Treats Sterilization as Sacred: You don't cut corners when nobody's looking, because the corner is the whole point. Anticipates Instead of Reacts: You know what the doctor needs next because you've been paying attention to what's actually happening in the mouth. Is Endlessly Coachable: You want feedback. You ask questions. You would rather look like a beginner for a week than stay mediocre for a year. Is a Team Player: You treat the sterilization tech, the front desk, and the doctor with exactly the same respect. You pitch in without being asked and without keeping score.
