Dental Office Assistant / Float Apprentice - Hassan and Liu DDS - Midland, MI
Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Midland, MI

No Experience Required Hassan & Liu Dental â Midland, MI Full-time | Paid on-the-job training | $16/hour to start, up to $18/hour by 6 months Get paid to learn a career. No school, no student loans. Most dental assistant jobs ask for a certificate you have to pay for first. We do it the other way around: we train you here, and you earn while you learn. If you are dependable, warm with people, and willing to start at a training wage in exchange for a real skill set â we want to meet you. What "float" means â and why it's the best way to learn A float moves wherever the office needs help that day. Sterilization one morning, chairside the next, helping at the front desk in the afternoon. Most new assistants learn one corner of the office. Youâll learn all of it. By the time youâre trained, youâll understand how the whole practice fits together â and that makes you far more valuable than someone who only ever did one job. What youâll be doing Your first weeks are about learning how the office runs. Over time, you grow into full chairside assisting. Greet patients and make them feel comfortable from the moment they walk in Set up and break down treatment rooms; sterilize and organize instruments Step in wherever the day needs you â thatâs the float part, and weâll teach it carefully Assist the doctor chairside: suction, passing instruments, charting Take X-rays once youâve completed the radiography course â we pay for it and put you through it Restock supplies and help keep the schedule moving Schedule Consistent hours, every week. No nights. No weekends. Day and Hours Monday 7:45 AM â 5:15 PM Tuesday 7:45 AM â 5:15 PM Wednesday 6:45 AM â 4:15 PM Thursday 6:45 AM â 4:15 PM Friday 8:00 AM â 12:00 PM Every Friday afternoon off. Every weekend off. What we offer Health insurance 401(k) Paid sick leave Paid vacation Paid radiography certification â we put you through the required Michigan X-ray course and cover the cost. Itâs a real credential you keep. Paid continuing education â we cover approved CE courses that sharpen your skills on the job (this does not include dental assisting school tuition) Paid on-the-job training â you are learning from day one, on the clock Your pay goes up as your skills go up This is not a "maybe someday" raise. The steps are written down before you start: When Hourly pay How you get there Day one : $16.00 3 months with satisfactory training review : $17.00 6 months with satisfactory review and training milestones complete : $18.00 Both increases are tied to a review of your training progress â attendance, reliability, and the skills youâve picked up. Meet the marks and the raise follows. After 6 months, pay is reviewed annually as you take on more responsibility. Nothing here is a mystery. Youâll know exactly what youâre working toward, and exactly what it takes to get there. Who weâre looking for We are not looking for a resume full of dental experience. We are looking for character. Youâll do well here if you: Show up on time, every time Are kind and patient with nervous people Notice what needs doing before someone asks Can stay calm when the schedule gets tight Donât mind switching tasks â some days youâll wear three hats Want to build a career, not just take a job Requirements: High school diploma or GED Able to work the full schedule listed above Comfortable on your feet for most of the day Willing to start at a training wage while you learn the skill Nice to have, but not required: customer service, retail, food service, caregiving, or childcare experience. If youâve taken care of people before, you already have the hardest part. Why this job is worth your time Most people who want to work in dentistry start by paying for a program before theyâve ever set foot in an office â and plenty of them find out afterward that the work isnât for them. Youâll find out from the inside, on the clock, in a stable office with real benefits and a schedule you can build a life around. Youâll learn chairside skills, sterilization, patient care, and how a practice actually runs. To be clear about the role: this is a dental assistant position, not a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) position. RDA licensure in Michigan requires an accredited school program, which this job does not include or pay for. What this job does give you: hands-on experience, paid radiography certification, and a clear-eyed view of the work before you ever consider spending money on school. Weâre looking for someone to build something here, not to pass through. How to apply Send your resume to pt@hassanandliu.com , or apply through this posting. Tell us in a sentence or two why youâre interested in learning dentistry, and where youâd like to be in a few years. No dental experience? Say so. Thatâs who this job is for. Hassan & Liu Dental is an equal opportunity employer.
