Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in both general and pediatric dentistry, with a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures. This role involves providing chairside assistance during dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a sterile environment in compliance with infection control protocols. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use. Perform X-rays and other medical imaging as required, adhering to safety protocols. Document patient information accurately in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records and medical documentation, including medical coding when necessary. Take vital signs and assist with patient assessments as needed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental clinic, following aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently. Experience Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred, particularly in pediatric dentistry. Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly desirable. Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology is essential. Experience with 3D scanners and prosthodontics or endodontics is a plus. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment are critical for success in this role.
