Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to empower them in maintaining healthy smiles. Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside support, including handling dental instruments and managing infection prevention protocols. Maintain accurate and detailed electronic health records (EHR/EMR), documenting all treatments, observations, and patient interactions in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of dental equipment. Manage dental x-ray procedures in accordance with safety guidelines, ensuring minimal radiation exposure for patients. Review medical records for accurate documentation of patient history and treatment plans. Communicate effectively with patients, team members, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care seamlessly. Minimum Qualifications: Current Mississippi Dental Hygiene License in Mississippi. CPR Certifcation Excellent working knowledge of Dentistry, Dental Hygiene Procedures, Dental Patient Screening, and Medical History Documentation. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about dental care and treatment options. General understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control standards aligned with HIPAA compliance.
