Be the Person Our Patients Remember Dental Designs of Plantation is looking for an exceptional Dental Patient Coordinator / Front Desk professional to join our growing practice. For us, the front desk is not simply where patients check in. It is where relationships begin. We're looking for someone who knows dentistry, understands how a successful dental office operates, and has the personality, professionalism, and experience to make patients feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. A minimum of 2 years of dental office experience is REQUIRED. This is an experienced position. Candidates without at least two years of professional dental office experience will not be considered. Spanish speaking is strongly preferred. The Person We're Looking For You know how to connect with patients. You can welcome someone walking through the door, confidently handle a busy phone line, coordinate a complicated schedule, answer questions about insurance, and communicate with the clinical team â all while remaining warm, organized, and professional. You're someone who remembers names, follows through, notices when something needs attention, and doesn't wait to be asked to solve a problem. Most importantly, you genuinely enjoy working with patients. What You'll Do As our Dental Patient Coordinator, you will be an important connection between our patients, doctors, hygienists, assistants, and administrative team. Your responsibilities will include: Welcoming and checking in patients Creating a warm, professional patient experience from arrival through checkout Answering incoming calls and communicating professionally with new and existing patients Scheduling and confirming appointments Managing the dental schedule efficiently and proactively Coordinating appointments based on treatment needs and provider availability Helping patients understand their next steps and recommended treatment Discussing estimated patient portions and financial responsibilities Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits Understanding PPO dental benefits, deductibles, annual maximums, frequencies, limitations, and exclusions Helping patients understand their dental benefits without overpromising coverage Following up with patients regarding appointments and outstanding treatment Helping reactivate patients who are overdue for care Maintaining accurate patient information and documentation Working in Dentrix to manage patient and scheduling information Communicating closely with doctors and the clinical team Helping maintain smooth patient flow throughout the day Addressing patient questions and concerns with professionalism and compassion Supporting an organized, efficient, and positive front office Experience & QualificationsRequired Minimum 2 years of professional dental office experience Working knowledge of dental terminology and procedures Experience working in a dental front-office environment Experience with dental scheduling and patient communication Understanding of dental insurance and PPO benefits Strong computer and administrative skills Excellent verbal and written communication Exceptional organization and attention to detail Professional and compassionate approach to patient care Strongly Preferred Spanish speaking / bilingual English and Spanish Dentrix experience Experience with insurance verification and benefit breakdowns Experience discussing treatment and patient financial responsibility Experience with treatment follow-up and unscheduled treatment Previous Patient Coordinator, Dental Front Desk, Dental Receptionist, Scheduling Coordinator, or Treatment Coordinator experience This Is More Than a Reception Position The right person for this role understands that a successful dental front office isn't just answering phones and filling openings on a schedule.
