Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take dental x-rays, ensuring proper radiation safety protocols are followed. Manage patient management software and electronic medical records (EMR systems) to accurately document treatment details and medical history. Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to foster understanding and compliance. Maintain dental equipment, including 3D scanners and other advanced imaging tools, ensuring they are functioning optimally. Requirements Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with current licensure in the applicable jurisdiction. Proven experience with dental assisting in general dentistry or specialized fields such as oral surgery or endodontics. Proficiency with dental software systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and patient management software. Knowledge of infection control standards aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control policies. Ability to operate dental x-ray machines safely while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental procedures. Experience with dental sterilization procedures, instrument processing, and four-handed dentistry techniques.
