Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Pikesville, MD
As a part-time dental assistant you will assist the dental team in running smoothly by preparing treatment spaces, managing sterilization, and providing chairside support during procedures. Hours vary mainly Mon, Tues and Wed and may involve specific weekly shifts or flexible days. Chairside Assisting: Hand instruments, use suction, and assist the dentist during exams, fillings, and other treatments. Patient Care: Greet and seat patients, review medical histories, and ensure patient comfort. Sterilization & Safety: Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments, equipment, and operatories following strict infection control rules. Radiography: Take and process digital X-rays when properly certified. Administrative Support: Update patient records, schedule future visits, and help manage supply inventory. Qualifications & Requirements Experience: Previous dental assisting experience is preferred, though will train reliable entry-level candidates. Certifications: State radiology certification or X-ray license and current CPR/BLS certification are frequently required. Skills: Strong communication, active teamwork, and basic computer literacy for scheduling software.
