Orthodontic Records Technician/Dental Assistant - Shah Orthodontics - Hesperia, CA

Shah Orthodontics is looking for a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Orthodontic Records Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on, patient-facing position responsible for obtaining high-quality orthodontic diagnostic records and helping create an excellent experience for our patients and families. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with technology, enjoys interacting with children and adults, and takes pride in accuracy and organization. Responsibilities Take high-quality intraoral and extraoral patient photographs Take orthodontic digital X-rays , including panoramic and cephalometric X-rays, as permitted by California law Perform digital intraoral scans for orthodontic records, appliances, retainers, and treatment planning Obtain complete initial, progress, and final orthodontic records according to office protocols Accurately enter and organize patient records in the practice management system Review records to make sure images, scans, and X-rays are complete and of diagnostic quality Prepare patients for records appointments and explain procedures in a friendly and reassuring manner Maintain proper infection-control and sterilization procedures Clean, disinfect, and prepare equipment and treatment areas between patients Maintain cameras, scanners, X-ray equipment, computers, and other records-related equipment Help maintain an organized and efficient records area Assist the clinical team with patient flow when needed Communicate professionally with doctors, team members, patients, and parents Follow HIPAA, OSHA, radiation safety, and office policies Perform other clinical support duties within the employee's training and legally permitted scope What We Are Looking For Friendly, positive, and professional personality Excellent attention to detail Comfortable learning and using new technology Ability to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy Strong communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable working with children, teenagers, and adults Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented Ability to multitask in a busy orthodontic office Willingness to learn and accept feedback Previous dental or orthodontic experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Dental/orthodontic experience preferred Appropriate California certification/permit for taking dental radiographs required before independently performing X-rays Familiarity with digital photography, intraoral scanning, or dental software is a plus Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required Job Type: Full-time Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour Work Location: In person
