Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance and patient care specifically tailored to pediatric dentistry, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience for young patients. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures, including exams, cleanings, X-rays, oral surgery, and restorative treatments Prepare treatment rooms with the appropriate dental instruments, materials, and supplies while maintaining strict infection prevention protocols Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in accordance with HIPAA regulations Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical histories, taking vital signs, and ensuring patient comfort throughout visits Maintain accurate medical documentation and dental records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Ensure sterilization of dental instruments and equipment following infection control standards, including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures Educate patients and guardians on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and upcoming appointments to promote ongoing oral health Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with a focus on pediatric dentistry or general dentistry preferred Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with patient management software is a plus Strong knowledge of dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and clinical procedures specific to pediatric dentistry Ability to perform dental X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards Excellent understanding of infection prevention management and sterilization procedures in a dental setting Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy relevant to oral health, and medical documentation standards Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques and oral surgery assistance is advantageous Certification in Dental Assisting (such as CDA or RDA) required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or radiography are beneficial Join our team to help shape healthier smiles for children!
