As a Dental Assistant at ORAL, you shape the patient's experience in the chair, keep the operatory ready and maintained to the highest standard, and help our doctors do their best work. Because we are a general dentistry practice that also supports oral surgery, orthodontics, and prosthodontics, you will start in general and cosmetic dentistry and cross-train into specialty cases over time. WHAT YOU'LL DO Chairside Support and Patient Comfort Assist chairside across general, cosmetic, surgical, orthodontic, and prosthodontic appointments Seat and prepare patients, review the visit plan, and own their comfort and experience Anticipate the doctor's needs: tray setup, instrument sequence, and materials ready in advance Deliver post-op instructions clearly, schedule follow-ups, and loop in patient care coordinators Imaging and Digital Workflow Capture diagnostic imaging, including digital radiographs, intraoral scans, and CBCT Prepare imaging and case documentation so records are complete at the point of diagnosis Assist on same-day restorative cases through design and in-house 3D printing Sterilization and Operatory Readiness Own instrument processing and sterilization, including cycle monitoring and documentation Turn rooms over efficiently, holding the operatory to the highest standard of cleanliness, and keep general and specialty setups stocked and ready Keep clinical notes and chart documentation current, book follow-up appointments, and coordinate with the patient care coordinator team Communicate openly with doctors, hygienists, and the front office team so the day runs as one operation Step in where the schedule needs you, across operatories and service lines Take on new skills as you cross-train, and help bring newer assistants up to speed WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 1 to 2 years of chairside dental assisting experience desired Experience assisting in oral surgery or orthodontics is a big plus, as is experience with intraoral scanning, CBCT, or in-house 3D printing Current BLS/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain it before your first day Pre-dental candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
