Job Summary Michigan Family Orthodontics seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will assist orthodontists in providing high-quality care to patients, ensuring a positive and efficient experience. This role requires a strong understanding of orthodontic procedures, excellent communication skills, teamwork, professionalism, experience and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist orthodontists during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are ready and available. Take and develop patient records, including X-rays, to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain accurate medical records for each patient, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage appointment schedules and coordinate patient flow within the office. Ensure that the treatment area is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies. Collaborate with team members to enhance patient experience and improve office efficiency. Experience Previous experience as an orthodontic assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with dental software systems such as GreyFinch is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, pediatrics, prosthodontics, and medical records management is beneficial. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages. A proactive attitude towards learning new techniques and improving skills within the orthodontic field.
