Duties Perform thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental histories, oral examinations, and diagnostic imaging using advanced tools such as digital X-rays and medical imaging technology. Diagnose dental conditions accurately utilizing dental terminology and healthcare diagnosis principles to develop effective treatment plans. Administer a wide range of general dentistry procedures including dental cleanings, fillings, root canal therapy, dental extractions, prosthodontics (crowns, bridges), orthodontics Utilize clinical software such as Open Dental to document medical records securely in compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations. Practice aseptic techniques and infection control protocols rigorously to ensure patient safety during all procedures. Collaborate with patients to educate them on oral health maintenance, treatment options, and post-procedure care through clear client communication. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry, and current best practices in pediatric dentistry and anesthesiology to enhance patient care quality. Ensure compliance with all healthcare standards by adhering to HIPAA guidelines and state-specific regulations governing medical documentation and patient privacy. Qualifications Valid state dental license with certification in general dentistry; additional specialties such as pediatrics or endodontics are a plus. Proven experience in dental office or clinic settings with proficiency in dental fabrication techniques and medical imaging. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, infection control procedures, and the use of practice management software like Open Dental Demonstrated ability to perform complex procedures including root canal therapy, oral surgery, dental implants, orthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain treatment plans clearly and empathetically. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws related to medical records management. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment practicing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient comfort.
