Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist dentists during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare and maintain the treatment area by following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Take and develop X-rays as needed, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize EMR systems such as Open Dental for patient documentation and medical records management. Perform chairside assisting duties, including passing instruments and materials to the dentist. Monitor vital signs and provide medical documentation for patient records. Operate 3D scanners for accurate imaging when required. Educate patients on post-operative care and general oral hygiene practices. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist with ordering when necessary. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to manage patient scheduling and ensure a seamless patient experience. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and basic anatomy knowledge. Proficient in using EMR systems; experience with Open Dental is preferred. Knowledge of four-handed dentistry techniques and infection control practices. Ability to perform medical imaging procedures accurately. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in medical documentation and record keeping. Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members. Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred but not mandatory.
