Dental Hygienist - Perio Health and Dental Implants - Scranton, PA

We are looking for an energetic, compassionate and reliable Dental Hygienist to add to our multi-specialty practice. A positive attitude and a willingness to continue learning is a must. Responsibilities Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible at every visit Sterilize dental instruments properly Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis Clean and help protect patients’ teeth Educate patients on proper oral hygiene Take X-rays or dental impressions (digital or alginate) Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including but not limited to, oral cancer) Maintain documentation, radiographs and charts on each patient Monitor supplies Calls hygiene patients in your schedule the day before to remind them of a scheduled appointment time Prepares correspondence to be sent to doctors outside of the practice regarding patients current oral status and treatment plans Skills Proven experience as Dental Hygienist In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations as a Dental Hygienist (e.g. HIPAA) Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment Outstanding communication skills A patient, compassionate and friendly personality Attention to detail Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job Diploma in Dental Hygiene Valid license to practice and current CE courses Job Type: Part-time Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Employee discount Flexible schedule Paid time off Retirement plan License/Certification: Registered Dental Hygienist (Required) Work Location: In person
