Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Trenton, IL

Full-Time Dental Assistant We are looking for a dependable, energetic, and patient-focused Dental Assistant to join our dental team. Previous dental assisting experience is preferred; however, we are willing to train the right person on the job who has a great attitude, strong work ethic, and is eager to learn. We are a busy dental office, so we are looking for someone who can adapt quickly, stay organized, communicate well, and work as part of a team. Our ideal candidate is upbeat, bubbly, friendly, and confident with patients while also being able to stay focused and productive in a fast-paced environment. Office Schedule Our regular office hours are: Monday: 7:00 AM â 4:00 PM Tuesday: 7:30 AM â 6:00 PM Wednesday: 7:30 AM â 6:00 PM Thursday: CLOSED Friday: 7:00 AM â 4:00 PM Saturday & Sunday: CLOSED Please note that scheduled office hours may vary slightly depending on patient care and the needs of the team. There may be occasions when team members are required to stay after regular office hours to finish cleaning, sterilization, restocking, lab work, or setting up the office for the following day. There are also days when the team may finish early and leave before the scheduled closing time once patient care and end-of-day responsibilities have been completed. We are looking for someone who understands that dentistry does not always end at an exact time and is willing to work together with the team to make sure the office is properly prepared before leaving for the day. Responsibilities Assist the doctor using four-handed dentistry Prepare treatment rooms and properly set up and break down operatories Take quality diagnostic dental X-rays Assist with a variety of general dental procedures Take accurate dental impressions for various dental cases Perform basic dental laboratory work , including pouring and preparing models from impressions Properly handle, label, organize, and prepare dental cases for the lab Understand treatment plans and assist with communicating treatment and next steps to patients Maintain proper infection control and sterilization procedures Keep operatories, supplies, and clinical areas clean, stocked, and organized Anticipate the doctor's needs during procedures and maintain efficient four-handed dentistry Review and update patient medical/health histories and understand the importance of identifying changes that may affect dental treatment Ensure patient health histories, medications, allergies, and other pertinent medical information are accurately documented and kept current Maintain accurate and detailed clinical dental notes Update patient charting, including existing conditions, completed treatment, and other necessary clinical information Understand the importance of complete and accurate documentation in the patient's dental record Communicate effectively with the doctor, front office, other dental assistants, and patients Help maintain an efficient patient flow throughout the day Provide a welcoming, positive, and comfortable experience for our patients Be willing to learn new procedures, systems, and responsibilities as needed Help the team wherever needed to keep the office running smoothly What We're Looking For The right person for our office will be: Friendly, upbeat, and bubbly Great with patients and able to make them feel comfortable Dependable and punctual Organized and able to multitask A quick learner Detail-oriented, especially when it comes to patient records, charting, and clinical documentation Able to take direction and accept constructive feedback Able to adapt quickly when the schedule or needs of the office change Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment A strong communicator with both patients and team members A team player who is willing to step in and help when needed Self-motivated and able to recognize what needs to be done without constantly being directed Professional and respectful with patients and coworkers Someone who understands the importance of accuracy, organization, patient safety, and proper documentation Experience & Skills Previous dental assisting experience is preferred but not required. Experience or knowledge in the following areas is a plus: Four-handed dentistry Dental X-rays Dental impressions Pouring dental models and basic lab work Treatment planning Patient charting Clinical dental notes Medical and health history documentation General dentistry procedures Sterilization and infection control Dental terminology Dental software and electronic charting We are willing to provide on-the-job training for the right candidate.
