Overview We're looking for an experienced, Florida-certified Dental Assistant who can work chair-side across the full spectrum of what we do: general dentistry, family care (including children), and cosmetic procedures. Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontic procedures by preparing instruments and materials efficiently. Operate and maintain dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices while adhering to aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records using Open Dental; document medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes accurately. Support infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments, maintaining a clean clinical environment, and following OSHA standards. Assist with patient intake by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly using dental terminology, and addressing patient questions or concerns. Collaborate with the dental team to provide four-handed dentistry for efficient patient flow and optimal care delivery. Maintain detailed medical documentation and coding for billing purposes while ensuring compliance with HIPAA privacy rules. Support dental reception duties when needed by scheduling appointments, confirming patient visits, and managing medical records. Requirements Florida EFDA Certification — required by law; must be current Florida Dental Radiographer Certification — required by law; must be current 1+ year of chair-side dental assisting experience Familiarity with digital x-rays and practice management software Reliable, team-oriented, and patient-focused Preferred Qualifications Experience with Open Dental Comfort with cosmetic procedures (veneers, whitening consultations, smile design workflow) Experience with pediatric patients Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus What We Offer Competitive pay commensurate with experience Dental benefits for you and your immediate family A small, collaborative team where your contributions genuinely matter No corporate quotas.
