Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Orthodontic Insurance Coordinator/Front Desk professional to join our vibrant dental team. This role is essential in ensuring seamless patient experiences by managing insurance claims, verifying coverage, and providing exceptional customer service at the front desk. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and possess a strong understanding of healthcare billing processes, medical coding, and insurance procedures. Your energy and enthusiasm will help create a welcoming environment while efficiently handling administrative duties related to orthodontic insurance, financial coordination, and patient intake. Duties Greet patients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-in/check-out processes with professionalism. Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility using healthcare claims management systems and EHR platforms. Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims utilizing CPT coding, DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards to ensure timely reimbursements. Follow up on outstanding claims, resolve billing issues, and communicate with insurance companies to expedite payment processing. Maintain detailed medical records and ensure all documentation complies with healthcare regulations and privacy standards. Assist patients with understanding their insurance benefits, payment options, and financial arrangements related to orthodontic treatment. Utilize billing software to generate reports, track billing activities, and manage financial records efficiently. Stay updated on healthcare claims management policies, dental terminology, and changes in medical coding standards to ensure accuracy in billing practices. Experience Previous experience in a medical office setting, preferably within dental or orthodontic practices. Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including medical billing, collections, and claims management. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and billing software used in healthcare environments. Proficiency in CPT coding, DRG coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for accurate claim submission. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex insurance information clearly and empathetically. Basic understanding of dental terminology, dental records management, and healthcare compliance standards.
