Pediatric Dental Assistant â DA1 Location: Raleigh, NC â GSPD Garner Station Position: Pediatric DA1 Schedule: Typically MondayâThursday, 7:45 AMâ5:00 PM, with some Fridays, 7:45 AMâ1:00 PM. Surgical center or hospital sedation days may follow facility hours. About the Opportunity Growing Smiles Pediatric Dentistry is looking for an energetic, dependable and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant (DA1) to join our GSPD Garner Station team in Raleigh. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with children, takes pride in providing excellent patient care and wants to grow as part of a collaborative dental team. You don't have to know everything on day one. We're looking for someone with strong fundamentals, a great work ethic, initiative and the personality to make children and families feel comfortable in our practice. What You'll Do Provide chairside support to the doctor during pediatric dental procedures. Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and materials. Assist with appropriate retraction, suctioning and instrument transfer. Take diagnostic radiographs within your qualifications. Accurately document clinical information and treatment. Assist with Open Dental clinical charting and documentation. Help children feel safe and comfortable before, during and after treatment. Communicate warmly and professionally with parents and caregivers. Follow OSHA, CDC and practice infection-control protocols. Properly clean, package and sterilize instruments. Maintain clean, organized and treatment-ready operatories. Monitor supplies and communicate inventory needs proactively. Work collaboratively with doctors, assistants and front-office team members. Jump in where needed to help the clinical schedule run smoothly. What We're Looking For DA1 with appropriate North Carolina qualifications/certifications Current radiology qualifications/certification as applicable Strong understanding of infection control and sterilization Ability to take quality diagnostic radiographs Excellent attention to detail Dependable with a strong work ethic Eager to learn and grow clinically Proactive rather than waiting to be told what needs to be done Comfortable communicating with children and parents Patient and composed with anxious or apprehensive children Positive, professional and team-oriented Pediatric dental experience and Open Dental experience are preferred.
