Dental Assistant â Pediatric Dentistry Location: Morrisville, NC Position: DAII or DA1 with Pediatric Experience Schedule: Typically MondayâThursday, 7:45 AMâ5:00 PM, with some Fridays, 7:45 AMâ1:00 PM. Surgical center or hospital sedation days may follow facility hours. About the Opportunity Growing Smiles Pediatric Dentistry is looking for an experienced, dependable and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our Morrisville team. We're seeking either a DAII or a DA1 with previous pediatric dental experience who is comfortable in a fast-paced clinical environment and genuinely enjoys working with children. Pediatric dentistry takes a special personality. Beyond strong clinical skills, we're looking for someone who can help children feel safe, communicate well with parents and work collaboratively with the entire dental team. What You'll Do Provide efficient four-handed chairside assistance. Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and materials for procedures. Anticipate the doctor's needs throughout treatment. Provide appropriate retraction and suctioning. Assist with restorative, oral surgery and other procedures within your training and qualifications. Take high-quality diagnostic radiographs efficiently and accurately. Accurately document clinical findings and treatment. Utilize Open Dental for appropriate clinical charting and documentation. Help children feel comfortable and safe throughout their visits. Communicate professionally and compassionately with parents and caregivers. Follow OSHA, CDC and practice infection-control protocols. Properly clean, package and sterilize instruments. Maintain clean, stocked and treatment-ready operatories. Monitor clinical supplies and communicate inventory needs before supplies run out. Work collaboratively with doctors, assistants and administrative team members. What We're Looking For DAII OR DA1 with prior pediatric dental experience Appropriate North Carolina dental assisting qualifications/certifications for the position Current radiology qualifications/certification as applicable Ability to take quality diagnostic radiographs Strong understanding of sterilization and infection-control protocols Strong chairside assisting skills Dependable with a strong work ethic Proactive and able to anticipate the doctor's and team's needs Organized and attentive to detail Comfortable working with children, including anxious or apprehensive patients Positive, team-oriented and willing to jump in where needed Open Dental experience is preferred.
