We are a doctor-owned, relationship-focused pediatric dental practice looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join our energetic and supportive team. Our office is intentionally different from high-volume or corporate dentistry. Our Schedule Monday: 10:30 AMâ5:00 PM Tuesday: 8:00 AMâ2:30 PM Wednesday: 10:30 AMâ5:00 PM Occasional earlier Wednesday mornings for team meetings or general anesthesia cases Friday: 8:00 AMâ2:30 PM, approximately twice per month Typical schedule: 21â28 hours per week The position is currently part-time rather than a traditional five-day, 40-hour schedule. As the practice grows, our goal is to build this role into a full 40-hour workweek completed in four days. For someone currently pursuing EFDA or dental hygiene education, the existing schedule offers an especially nice balance between work, school, and life. What Youâll Do Our Dental Assistants are an important part of the patient experience from the moment a child enters the treatment area. Responsibilities may include: Chairside assisting for pediatric restorative and preventive procedures Helping children feel comfortable and successful during dental visits Supporting age-appropriate behavior guidance Taking dental radiographs Taking orthodontic photographs, impressions, scans, and records Preparing treatment rooms and maintaining efficient clinical flow Sterilization and infection-control procedures Assisting with sealants, SDF, Curodont, and other minimally invasive treatments Supporting general anesthesia cases and other advanced pediatric procedures Patient and parent education Maintaining accurate clinical documentation Supporting inventory and clinical organization Learning orthodontic and airway-focused procedures as the practice grows Who Weâre Looking For Our ideal candidate has: Pediatric dental assisting experience A warm and confident approach with children and families Strong chairside assisting skills Excellent communication and teamwork Attention to detail and strong organizational skills A positive, dependable, flexible attitude Interest in preventive dentistry and minimally invasive care Interest in learning orthodontic and airway-related procedures A desire to continue growing professionally Radiology certification (DANB) is required. Experience with Open Dental and Dexis is helpful but not required . We are happy to train the right person.
