Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) Pediatric Dentistry | $30â$35/hour | 21â28 hours/week | No Evenings or Weekends Are you an experienced EFDA who loves working with children but doesnât love the high-volume, corporate model of dentistry? We are a doctor-owned, relationship-focused pediatric dental practice looking for an experienced Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join an energetic, supportive team. Our practice is intentionally different. We focus on wellness, prevention, minimally invasive dentistry, and building long-term relationships with families. We keep our schedule manageable so our team can provide excellent care without feeling rushed from patient to patient. We are looking for someone who enjoys pediatric dentistry, takes pride in preventive care, and wants to continue growing clinically. This position offers: $30â$35/hour , based on pediatric and EFDA experience Approximately 21â28 hours per week A 3.5-day workweek , with the practice growing toward a full 40-hour, 4-day workweek No evenings No weekends Low-volume, relationship-focused patient care Doctor-owned practice â not corporate dentistry Six paid federal holidays One week of accrued PTO annually, increasing to two weeks beginning in year three Health benefits beginning this fall, with eligibility after 3 months Retirement plan beginning this fall, with eligibility after 3 months Paid continuing education and team training Paid team-building activities Wellness benefit Opportunities to expand your skills in minimally invasive dentistry and orthodontics Our Schedule Monday: 10:30 AMâ5:00 PM Tuesday: 8:00 AMâ2:30 PM Wednesday: 10:30 AMâ5:00 PM Occasional earlier Wednesday mornings for team meetings or general anesthesia cases Friday: 8:00 AMâ2:30 PM, approximately twice per month Typical schedule: 21â28 hours per week This role is ideal for someone who wants to build a meaningful career while maintaining excellent work/life balance. It may also be a great fit for someone continuing their education or pursuing additional professional goals. The position is currently 21â28 hours per week rather than a traditional five-day, 40-hour schedule. As the practice grows, our goal is to build this role into a full 40-hour workweek completed in four days. What Youâll Do We are especially interested in an EFDA who enjoys the preventive side of pediatric dentistry. Responsibilities include: Coronal polishing and pediatric preventive care Sealants Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) Curodont and other minimally invasive therapies Dental radiographs Orthodontic photographs and records Pediatric restorative procedures within EFDA scope Supporting children of different ages and comfort levels during treatment Working closely with the doctor and clinical team to create positive dental experiences Learning additional orthodontic and airway-focused procedures as the practice continues to grow Who Weâre Looking For Our ideal candidate has: Active EFDA certification Pediatric dental assisting experience Strong preventive clinical skills Confidence working independently within EFDA scope A warm, patient approach with children and families Excellent teamwork and communication skills A positive, flexible attitude Interest in learning new techniques and expanding clinical skills Experience with Open Dental and Dexis is helpful but not required .
