Our unique practice brings pediatric dentistry and orthodontics together, allowing us to care for children and families through multiple stages of their dental and orthodontic journey. Your responsibilities will include: Chairside assisting during pediatric dental procedures Assisting with restorative and preventive treatment Assisting with sealants, fillings, crowns, extractions, and other pediatric procedures Preparing patients, operatories, instruments, and materials for treatment Taking high-quality digital radiographs Obtaining and documenting complete patient records Providing efficient four-handed dentistry Helping children feel safe, comfortable, and confident during treatment Supporting appropriate behavior guidance and patient management Communicating effectively and compassionately with parents and caregivers Providing oral hygiene education and post-operative instructions Maintaining accurate clinical notes and documentation Following sterilization and infection-control protocols Turning over treatment rooms efficiently between patients Keeping operatories clean, organized, stocked, and ready Helping maintain efficient patient flow throughout the clinical day Supporting teammates and stepping in where needed Orthodontic Experience? That's a Big Plus. Because you'll be part of Popat Orthodontics & Madison Pediatric Dentistry , previous orthodontic assisting experience is highly beneficial. If you already know both pediatric dentistry and orthodontics, we'd especially like to hear from you. Orthodontic skills that are valuable to our practice include: Orthodontic records Digital intraoral scanning Intraoral and extraoral photography Panoramic and cephalometric radiographs Bonding and debonding Orthodontic adjustments and wire changes Clear aligner scans and attachments Retainers and orthodontic appliances Orthodontic experience is beneficial but is not required for this Pediatric Dental Assistant position. What We're Looking For Preferred qualifications include: Previous pediatric dental assisting experience (at least 1 year) Strong chairside assisting skills Experience working with children of different ages and behavioral needs Comfortable communicating with parents and caregivers Knowledge of pediatric dental procedures and terminology Private-practice experience preferred Orthodontic assisting experience is a strong plus Strong organizational and multitasking skills Dependable and punctual Professional and detail-oriented Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work efficiently in a busy specialty practice Positive attitude and genuine team mentality Most importantly, we're looking for someone who enjoys working with children and can be counted on by our patients, doctors, and teammates.
