Dental Assistant/ EFDA - somerset dental associates - Johnstown, PA

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Dental Assistant / Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our dental team. The ideal candidate is flexible, dependable, and committed to providing excellent patient care while supporting the dentist and clinical team. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations, cleanings, fillings, crowns, extractions, and other procedures. Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care. Perform EFDA duties within the scope of applicable state regulations. Take and process dental X-rays as permitted by certification and state requirements. Sterilize instruments and maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment. Seat patients, help them feel comfortable, and provide professional support throughout their visit. Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation. Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care. Monitor and restock dental supplies as needed. Work collaboratively with the dentist and dental team to ensure an efficient patient experience. Qualifications EFDA certification required. Radiology/X-ray certification required. CPR/AED certification required. Dental assisting experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
