Lead Dental Assistant â Biological & Wellness Dentistry Thurmont Smiles | Thurmont, MD Premium compensation for the right candidate: $30â$35/hour + benefits Thurmont Smiles is a growing biological and wellness-focused dental practice in Thurmont, Maryland. We donât practice dentistry the way most offices do. Our focus is on preserving healthy tooth structure, minimally invasive dentistry, biological principles, advanced technology, and helping patients understand the connection between oral health and whole-body health. Our services include biomimetic restorations, CEREC dentistry, ceramic implants, oral surgery, ozone therapy, PRF, SMART amalgam removal, 3D imaging, and comprehensive restorative care. We are looking for a Lead Dental Assistant who wants more than just another assisting job. This person will work closely with the doctor, help lead the clinical team, and play an important role as our practice continues to grow. In this role, you will: Assist confidently with a wide range of restorative, surgical, implant, CEREC, and biological procedures Anticipate the doctorâs needs and help appointments run smoothly and efficiently Help guide and support other clinical team members Prepare rooms, instruments, materials, and equipment with strong attention to detail Follow established systems, checklists, and safety protocols consistently Take high-quality digital radiographs and clinical photographs Work with technology including CEREC, CBCT/3D imaging, digital scanning, and advanced dental equipment Communicate warmly and confidently with patients and help them understand their care Maintain excellent infection-control and patient-safety standards Help keep clinical supplies, equipment, and daily workflows organized Notice what needs to be done and take ownership rather than waiting to be asked You may be a great fit if you: Have significant dental assisting or clinical dental experience of over 3 years Are already a highly skilled dental assistant with EFDA certification (preferred) Are dependable, organized, and comfortable working at a high level Learn new systems and technology quickly Take pride in doing things correctly and consistently Can receive feedback without becoming defensive Enjoy being part of a team but do not need constant supervision Care about patients as people, not just procedures Want to continue learning and growing professionally Lead or supervisory experience is a plus, but skill, maturity, clinical understanding, reliability, and ability to learn are more important to us than a specific title.
