IV Sedation Dentist, Per Diem Location: Downey, CA Schedule: Per diem, 2 to 4 set surgery days a month to start, with more as we grow Pay: $1,000 to $1,800 per half day, based on experience, negotiable About the role 5D Smiles is a busy implant and aesthetic dental center in Downey. We're looking for a dentist to be our dedicated IV sedation provider on surgery days. Your job is sedation. You'll sedate and monitor adult patients during All-on-X and implant surgery while our implant surgeon operates. You may also do extractions on those days. You won't place implants or do restorative work. We supply the sedation equipment: patient monitor with capnography, emergency drug kit, AED, oxygen, backup suction, and airway kit. You don't need to haul gear. What you'll do Review medical history and clear patients for sedation Start the IV, give sedation, and monitor patients through long cases (3 to 5 hours) Manage recovery, discharge, and post-op instructions Do extractions as needed on surgery days Put nervous patients at ease before and after surgery Requirements DDS or DMD with an active California license Active California Moderate Sedation or General Anesthesia permit Current ACLS Your own DEA registration Your own malpractice coverage that includes sedation Nice to have Experience sedating for All-on-X or full-arch surgery Comfortable with surgical extractions Spanish speaking, since many of our patients speak Spanish Why work with us Set surgery days with back-to-back cases, so your day is full and predictable Sedation only: no restorative, no production quotas Equipment provided and maintained Calm, experienced surgical team Room to add more days as we grow To apply: send your CV, your California sedation permit number, your ACLS card, and roughly how many IV sedation cases you do each month.
