Orthodontic experience and an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certificate are a plus, but neither is required for the right candidate. Opportunities for continued training and professional development What You'll Do Build genuine, trusting relationships with patients and families while providing an exceptional patient experience Educate patients and parents on orthodontic treatment, oral hygiene, and proper care of orthodontic appliances Work closely with our doctors to provide high-quality chairside patient care Assist with the placement, adjustment, and removal of orthodontic appliances Take diagnostic X-rays and clinical photographs Maintain accurate patient charts and transcribe doctor notes Follow established clinical protocols and maintain a high standard of infection control Work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and quality Be receptive to coaching and actively seek opportunities to improve your clinical skills Perform other duties as needed to support our patients, doctors, and team Experience & Qualifications Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Strong communication and interpersonal skills Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic Ability to learn and follow clinical protocols Preferred, but not required: 1â3 years of dental or orthodontic assisting experience Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification Experience taking dental X-rays and clinical photographs Experience with orthodontic appliances, impressions/scanning, or retainer fabrication We will consider exceptional candidates without orthodontic experience.
