Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Wilmington, DE

We are a modern, privately owned periodontal practice opening in Wilmington this fall, and weâre looking for a dental surgical assistant to be an integral part of our founding team. Our goal is to provide high-quality, personalized periodontal care in an environment that is professional, welcoming, and genuinely supportiveâfor both our patients and our team. As one of our first team members, youâll have a unique opportunity to help build the patient experience and office culture from the ground up. Weâre looking for someone who is comfortable in a surgical setting, highly organized, personable, and compassionate, with a genuine interest in helping patients feel well cared for throughout their treatment. Responsibilities Provide chairside assistance during a variety of periodontal and surgical procedures Set up and break down operatories while maintaining proper infection control Properly sterilize, package, organize, and store instruments Take digital radiographs, intraoral and extraoral photographs, and intraoral scans Welcome patients, help ease anxiety, and create a calm, reassuring experience throughout their visit Provide clear and compassionate post-operative instructions and education Assist with medication and prescription coordination and patient instructions Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient clinical environment Help ensure instruments, supplies, and surgical materials are properly stocked Work closely with the doctor and team to provide an exceptional patient experience from consultation through post-operative care Requirements Active Dental Assistant certification and required X-ray certification in accordance with Delaware requirements Current CPR certification Two years of dental surgical experience is preferred, but not required. Ability to be organized and collaborative Most importantly, weâre looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, eager to learn, and takes pride in providing excellent patient care.
