Dental Assistant - Cherryvale Dental Center - Rockford, IL

Job Summary: We are seeking a patient oriented Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, and help ensure a smooth patient experience. Duties: Greet and seat patients. Gather info on reason for visit and update patient's medical and dental history - Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment - Assist dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating their needs - Assist in taking and processing dental x-rays - -Giving post appointment instructions and scheduling future appointments as necessary Skills: - Knowledge of or able to learn teeth numbers and surfaces - Familiar with the various dental procedures such as crowns, fillings, extractions and dentures -Experience with or ability to learn Open Dental patient management software - Knowledge of pediatric dental care -Experience in assisting doctor chairside with various common dental procedures - or able to learn - Flexible hours. Every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9-5. Closed on Wednesdays. Every other Friday 9-2 and every other Saturday 8-1. Able to adjust days and hours as necessary This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic family dental practice.
