Orthodontic Records & Sterilization Technician - SANTUCCI ORTHODONTICS - Wichita, KS

Santucci Orthodontics is looking for an upbeat, organized, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Orthodontic Records & Sterilization Technician . This position plays an important role in both the patient experience and the clinical flow of our practice. You will work directly with patients of all ages, from young children experiencing their first orthodontic visit to adults seeking treatment later in life. We are looking for someone who can make every patient feel comfortable and welcome while efficiently capturing high-quality diagnostic records for our doctors. Our practice is fast-paced, highly organized, and committed to excellence. The right person for this role enjoys staying busy, pays close attention to the details, and takes pride in doing things correctly and efficiently. Primary Responsibilities Diagnostic Records Take high-quality extraoral and intraoral patient photographs Take diagnostic orthodontic X-rays Capture 3D digital impressions/scans Complete diagnostic records for new patient consultations Complete final/post-treatment records Ensure all records are accurate, complete, and properly documented Prepare and send digital scans to dental laboratories as needed Maintain an organized and efficient records workflow Patient Experience Provide a welcoming and comfortable records experience that creates a positive first impression and reflects the exceptional level of care we want every patient to experience Clearly explain what to expect during photographs, X-rays, and digital scans Confidently communicate with patients ranging from young children to older adults Adapt your communication style based on the patient's age, comfort level, and needs Sterilization & Clinical Support Assist with instrument sterilization and organization Bag and prepare instruments for sterilization Properly operate sterilization equipment according to office protocols Clean and disinfect cheek retractors and other appropriate items using cold sterilization procedures Help maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked clinical and records areas Support the clinical team as needed to keep patient flow running smoothly What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who is: Friendly, welcoming, and upbeat Comfortable working with both children and adults An excellent communicator Extremely detail-oriented Organized and dependable Able to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Able to move efficiently without sacrificing accuracy or patient experience A team player who is willing to step in and help where needed Able to follow established systems and protocols consistently Professional in both appearance and communication Comfortable learning and using technology What Success Looks Like in This Role Success in this position means more than simply taking great photos, X-rays, and scans.
