Registered Dental Assistant - LALA Dental - Lafayette, CA

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in various areas of dental assisting, including chairside assisting, pediatric dentistry, and familiarity with dental software systems. This role is crucial in providing excellent patient care and ensuring smooth operations within the clinic. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring an aseptic environment and adherence to infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety guidelines. Manage patient records and medical documentation accurately, including EMR systems such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft. Conduct vital signs checks and assist with medical imaging as needed. Provide chairside support during procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is stocked and ready for use. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred. Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology is essential. Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus, along with knowledge of infection control practices. Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Epic or similar EMR platforms is highly desirable. Understanding of medical coding and documentation practices will be beneficial.
