Job Overview Join our team as a Part Time Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional dental healthcare! Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup - 1 hour appointments Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Assess patient health by measuring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration; review medical history for relevant health considerations. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health record (EHR) Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental instruments and equipment, to ensure a safe environment for all. Skills Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft for scheduling, documentation review, and medical coding. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and general dentistry procedures. Ability to perform patient assessment by evaluating oral health status and vital signs accurately. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about dental care and foster positive relationships. Familiarity with infection control standards, healthcare infection prevention practices, and HIPAA compliance management. Competence in operating dental equipment including X-ray machines, handpieces, and other clinical tools necessary for comprehensive hygiene services.
