Dental Receptionist / Front Desk opportunity in Scottsdale, AZ
Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Scottsdale, AZ

We are a boutique, fee-for-service dental practice in North Scottsdale. We're 100% out-of-network with insurance by design. We're a small, close-knit team (currently one dentist, one assistant, one front desk coordinator) where everyone is cross-trained to support each other, and we're growing.
We're looking for an experienced Dental Front Desk Coordinator to be the first and last voice our patients hear — someone warm, sharp with details, and comfortable explaining our out-of-network/courtesy-billing model with confidence. This role also cross-trains to assist chairside and with basic sterilization support when needed, so no two days look exactly the same. 2 years of front desk experience required in the dentistry field.
What You'll Do
Front Desk (Primary Role)
- Greet patients and manage the check-in/check-out experience
- Answer phones, manage scheduling, and confirm appointments
- Collect payment at time of service and process courtesy billing claim submissions
- Present treatment plan costs clearly and help patients understand their options (payment plans, financing, insurance reimbursement expectations)
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage day-to-day reconciliation
Cross-Trained Support (As Needed)
- Basic sterilization support (bagging, instrument turnover) when the assistant needs backup
- Chairside seating/prep support in a pinch
- General flexibility to help wherever the day requires it — we're a small team and we look out for each other
What We're Looking For
- Prior dental front desk experience required — you should already be comfortable with dental terminology, scheduling logic, and patient financial conversations
- Experience with a practice management software (any major system — we'll train you on ours)
- Comfortable explaining financial policies clearly and confidently, without being thrown off by insurance questions
- A team-first mindset — willingness to learn other roles and step in when needed
- Excellent communication skills and a genuinely warm, patient-focused demeanor
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a small-practice environment where your work is visible and valued
- 32 hours per week with potential to expand in the future
Experience:
- Dental receptionist: 2 years (Required)
