We’re in Week 2 of National Dental Hygiene Month! This year’s theme, The Power of Your Practice, celebrates the difference dental hygienists make every single day.
This week is about more than just what happens in the operatory—it’s a reminder of how much your work improves lives. The ADHA’s focus encourages hygienists to pause for a moment, reconnect with their “why,” and explore new tools to keep their clinical skills sharp.
Clincial Resources
The ADHA has pulled together an incredible collection of resources to support you in that process. You’ll find everything from the newly updated Standards for Clinical Dental Hygiene Practice (2025) to fresh research, chairside guides, and continuing education. There are also resources on infection control, periodontal care, pain management, pediatric and maternal oral health, mental health, and tobacco cessation—all designed to help you stay confident, current, and connected to your purpose.
Check out these clinical resources.
Whether you’re earning free CE, updating office protocols, or simply reigniting your passion for prevention, these resources are a reminder that evidence-based care is always evolving — and that hygienists are leading the way.
Take a few minutes this week to browse the collection, share something new with your team, and celebrate The Power of Your Practice.
Free CE Spotlight: Elevate Your Practice
In honor of National Dental Hygiene Month, the ADHA is offering two free CE courses that focus on building stronger teams and deeper patient relationships.
The first course, “How You Doin’? The Importance of Workplace Culture,” looks at what helps a dental team truly thrive—communication, collaboration, and creating an environment where everyone feels supported.
The second, “Changing the Focus of the Recall Visit,” invites clinicians to see the hygiene appointment as more than a cleaning. It’s a chance to create meaningful, educational, prevention-focused moments with every patient.
Each course is worth 1.0 CE credit hour and includes takeaways you can put into practice right away. Both are available for free this week on CE Smart — a simple way to learn something new while celebrating the heart of Dental Hygiene Month.
