Dental Hygienist, Westlake Village dental office

Our outstanding dental practice is seeking an exceptional Dental Hygienist for an opportunity to join our dedicated team.We are friendly and state of the art office in Westlake Village, CA. We are looking for dental hygienist for Wednesday 9am-6pm who loves educating patients about dental health and is good at co-diagnosing with the dentist.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Assess patient’s teeth and periodontal tissues indicating the presence of any abnormalities or suspected diseases or conditions intraorally.

-Co-diagnose with the dentist to develop appropriate periodontal treatment plans

-Bring to the immediate attention of the dentist any suspected lesion in the mouth or on the teeth.

-Thoroughly remove soft and hard deposits and extrinsic stain from teeth, using hand instruments, ultrasonic scaler and prophy hand piece.

-Perform root planning as a periodontal therapy.

-Administered local anesthesia (Under Direct Supervision of dentist present in facility)

-Place locally-administered antibiotics as supportive periodontal therapy.

-Apply cavity-preventive agents, such as fluoride.

-Instruct patients how to practice good oral hygiene; make recommendations as to appropriate products or devices for patient’s home care.

-Ensure that the patient’s health history is updated

-Comfortable taking digital x-rays and intra-oral photos.

-Able to schedule hygiene patient appointment at appreciate time interval

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

-Associates or Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene.

-Dental hygienists must be licensed and in good standing with the State of California

-Administer local anesthesia (Under Direct Supervision of dentist present in facility)

-Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate

-Minimum of 1 year of work experience

-Knowledge of Dental Implants, Oral Surgery, Lasers, Endodontics, INVISALIGN and other dental procedures.
