Title: Orthodontic Dental Assistant
Work hours: Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays 9-6pm (8 hour shift). If possible, also on Saturdays 8:50am-1:50pm (5hour shift), which makes the job full-time. Off on the 1st Saturday of each month.
We’re a new, fully digital orthodontic practice in Torrance looking for a dental assistant with at least 3 years of experience in orthodontics. We're looking for someone friendly and upbeat who can have enjoyable conversations with the patients and can educate/motivate patients to follow instructions for myofunctional exercise, aligner/retainer wear, brushing, facemask wear, etc. We value the ability/desire to clearly and respectfully communicate with patients and team members. A positive attitude, high energy, punctuality, and strong attention to detail are essential to this role.
Position description
We're looking for a clinical assistant experienced in delivering outstanding customer service and educating patients and their families about dental health. The following basic ortho assisting skills are expected: bonding/debonding braces, expander delivery, Invisalign attachment delivery, taking iTero scans, in addition to basic sterilization and taking X-rays, orthodontic photos, etc. Hourly pay based on communication and clinical skills.
Requirements

Knowledge of dental and orthodontic terminology required.
Ability to provide outstanding customer service required.
Strong communication skills, along with a fun and motivating attitude, are important.
DA or RDA required. OA not required.
Over 3 years of orthodontic chairside assisting experience required.
Proficiency with bonding/debonding, appliance delivery, Invisalign attachment delivery required.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge and ability to perform sterilization functions required.
