Dental Assistant - Kittrell Family Dentistry - Richmond, VA

OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated individual to join our dental practice. We are an established practice that has been serving Richmond for over 40 years!! The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with dentists and hygienists to assist in various procedures, maintain patient records, and uphold the highest standards of infection control.
Duties

Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Perform medical documentation accurately, including updating patient records and maintaining medical files.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow to optimize office efficiency.
Adhere to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment.
Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients.
Utilize dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for record management and scheduling. We currently use Dentrix Ascend

Skills

Proficiency in medical coding and documentation related to dental procedures.
Strong knowledge of infection control measures and aseptic techniques.
Experience with managing medical records efficiently.
Ability to assist effectively during dental procedures while maintaining a calm demeanor.
Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients of all ages.
Attention to detail in both clinical tasks and administrative duties.
