Summary
We are seeking a Dental Hygiene Assistant to join our team at Dentistry At Somerset. In this role, you will support a Hygienist in delivering high-quality dental care while ensuring a positive experience for our patients. Your contributions will be vital in helping us maintain our commitment to exceptional patient service.
Responsibilities

Ability to think ahead and anticipate needs for the patients and our Hygienist.
Constant awareness of the hygiene schedule.
Escort patients to treatment rooms and answer any questions. Share patient questions and/or concerns with providers.
Assist in directing doctors to exams at the appropriate times to keep hygiene schedules on time.
Timely prepare treatment areas by sterilizing, positioning, and delivering instruments for hygienists’ access.
Set up and turnover rooms for Hygienist, including setting up trays and comfort menus. Ensure rooms are stocked with supplies.
Get patients’ selected comfort menu items for hygienists.
Provide instruments and materials as needed to Hygienists, Dentists or Dental Assistants during exams and procedures to help maintain patient comfort and efficiency.
Administer diagnostic x-rays and assist hygienists with sealants as needed.
Record treatment information in patient records, including perio charting.
Run suction lines.
Using and maintaining hazard control protocols as established by OSHA and office standards.
Preparing and presenting patient and office production statistics and reports as assigned.
Work with Hygienist and doctor to communicate patient loyalty programs.
Represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner.
Juggle multiple deadlines and task assignments comfortably and efficiently.
Work independently and cooperatively in team settings.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.

Requirements

Positive and ambitious demeanor, "go getter."
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant preferred but not required.
Familiarity with Dentrix software is a plus.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
