Dental Assistant needed in our Lake Forest, CA dental office

DENTAL ASSISTANT expectations:

• Conduct thorough Smile Interviews on all patients
• identify teeth appearing to need treatment, discuss your concerns, and educate the patients about potential treatment.
• Take digital or intraoral photographs as needed or directed by the doctor prior to the hand-off to the doctor.
• Ask about and address cosmetic needs and concerns the patients have.
• Confirm/educate patients about procedures being performed before the hand-off to the Doctor.
• Educate patients about proper post-operative home care, providing written postoperative
• instructions and/or refer them to the appropriate website page.
• Take patient x-rays as needed before, during, or after dental procedures.
• Document accurate charting information for the doctor.
• Assist with documenting periodontal measurements and existing restorations as needed.
• Hand-off all patients to the doctor.
• Assist the doctor as needed with clinical dental procedures.
• Perform all allowable assisting functions (based on your certification) for the doctor.
• Properly set up treatment rooms for each procedure.
• Properly clean and sterilize treatment rooms between patient visits
• Properly maintain, clean, and sterilize instruments and equipment after each use.
• Inform the doctor of any needed maintenance or repairs on equipment immediately.
• Inform the designated person who orders dental supplies when any dental product is almost gone (before the product is gone).
• Inventory, order and stock dental supplies as needed.
• Document outgoing and incoming lab cases via lab slips and case logs. Confirm receipt of cases before the patient’s seat appointment.
