Responsibilities

Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and vital signs.
Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing procedures with precision.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Assist dentists during examinations and treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Apply knowledge of dental terminology and medical coding to ensure efficient patient care.
Work collaboratively with the dental team to provide exceptional service in a pediatric setting when necessary.
Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.

Qualifications

Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Proficiency in dental terminology and familiarity with general dentistry practices.
Experience in pediatrics is a plus but not required.
Strong skills in patient assessment and ability to take vital signs accurately.
Knowledge of assisting techniques within a dental clinic environment.
Understanding of four-handed dentistry principles for efficient workflow.
Familiarity with medical coding practices related to dental procedures is advantageous.
