Dental Hygienist needed in Periodontics and Implant practice in Sun City West

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate dental hygienist to join our periodontics practice 2-3 days per week. The candidate will be providing dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, dental implant debridement, educate patients on common periodontal disease and good oral hygiene practice, and communicating patient's concerns and future treatment needs to the doctor and treatment coordinator.

Who We're Looking For

• Degree in dental hygiene and hold an active Arizona dental hygiene license.
• Current CPR certification.
• New graduate are welcome to apply.
• Knowledge of the basic periodontal disease, and proficient at taking dental X-ray and performing scaling and root planing using hand instruments and ultrasonic device.
• Ability to apply local anesthetics.
• Ability to communicate and interact professionally with patients, doctors and staff members.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time productively.
• Willingness to learn and to be coached by the doctor.
• Ability to identify possible dental treatment needs and effectively communicate the concerns to the patients and the doctor.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming and caring atmosphere for all patients, work with the team to address patient's concerns.
• Take dental radiograph for periodic and annual hygiene examinations.
• Perform dental prophylaxis cleaning, scaling and root planing, and implant debridement.
• Screen patients for oral diseases (caries, gingivitis, periodontitis, gingival defects, hard and soft tissue pathologies).
• Educate and help patient establish proper brushing and flossing techniques.
• Apply local anesthetics, local antibiotics, fluoride varnish and desensitizing agents.
• Assist periodontist during hygiene and consultation examinations.
• Accurately document daily clinical notes, and prepare communication letters to the referring doctors.
• Sterilize hygiene dental instruments according to safety regulations.
