Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Full-Time Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team at EKOS. As a Dental Assistant, you will provide essential support to the dentist during procedures, assist in patient care, and ensure the smooth operation of the dental office. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for helping patients achieve optimal oral health.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting the Dentist: Prepare treatment rooms and assist the dentist during examinations and procedures.
Patient Care: Ensure patient comfort by providing them with necessary information and support before, during, and after treatments.
X-Rays: Take, develop, and ensure the quality of dental X-rays as required by the dentist.
Sterilization & Infection Control: Sterilize dental instruments, manage infection control procedures, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Administrative Tasks: Schedule patient appointments, maintain patient records, and ensure all required documentation is completed accurately.
Preventive Care Education: Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory of dental supplies, ordering as needed.
Collaboration: Work closely with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality care.
Emergency Assistance: Provide assistance during dental emergencies, including basic first aid and CPR if necessary.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Dental Assistant Certification or equivalent training (required).
Florida Dental X-Ray Certification (if applicable).
EFDA preferred
2 years as an experienced dental assistant
Familiarity with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a plus.
Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Compassionate, reliable, and professional demeanor.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift and move dental equipment and supplies.
Manual dexterity to assist in dental procedures.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
