Dental Assistant - SW Portland Dental Office (97219) - Portland, OR

We looking for a Dental Assistant, full or part time, for our growing private dental practice.
Duties to include:
-Work as a team with our other dental assistant- Assist the dentist during dental procedures- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment- Take dental x-rays- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care-perform child prophies- Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix and other medical record systems- Assist dental hygienists with charting/x-rays/room turn over as needed- Follow aseptic techniques to ensure a safe and clean environment- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures- Preform child prophies and educate families on diet and oral hygiene- Assist with patient assessment, including taking vital signs and medical history- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy
```Qualifications```- Dental assisting certification or relevant experience, EFDA preferred- Proficiency in using Dentrix and other medical record systems- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and dental team members- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment- Attention to detail to ensure accurate recordkeeping and patient care- Understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry- Familiarity with Epic or other electronic health record systems is a plus
