Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices and procedures, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to ensure a positive experience for our patients.
Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a sterile and organized environment.
Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment for use during treatments.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
Record and update patient medical records accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide patient education on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and preventive measures.
Manage appointment scheduling, including coordinating with patients for follow-up visits.
Handle administrative tasks such as maintaining inventory of dental supplies and managing billing processes using Dentrix software.
Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their visit.

Experience

Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred, with a focus on general dentistry, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, or related fields.
Familiarity with medical coding practices is a plus.
Proficient in using dental software systems such as Dentrix is highly desirable.
Knowledge of medical records management and HIPAA compliance is essential.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
