Dental Assistant needed in our Lake Oswego, OR dental office

Duties

• Assist the dentist during various procedures, including but not limited to endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
• Take dental X-rays while adhering to safety guidelines.
• Record and update patient medical histories, including vital signs as necessary.
• Provide support in managing patient flow, including scheduling appointments and coordinating with the dental receptionist.
• Maintain accurate records of treatments and procedures performed.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• EFDA preferred
• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is required.
• Open Dental software experience preferred
• Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and systems is essential.
• Strong understanding of infection control practices in a dental setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
• Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.
