Who We Are

theSimpletooth is a single doctor, family owned practice run by Vu Le, DDS.  We are an ecclectic collection of friendly folks dedicated to great care first and foremost.   Patients like the technology here, but they love how they are treated.  We want a hygienist that people want to come back to.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a hygienist who is kind, gentle, thorough and organized.  Some experience is preferred, but we're flexible.  You must be able to take x-rays and scale, of course.  

Responsibilities

• Initial Patient Screenings: Conducting initial exams to assess oral health, taking and reviewing health histories, and discussing patient concerns with the dentist. 
• Dental Cleaning and Polishing: Removing plaque and tartar, and polishing teeth to a smooth surface. 
  Preventative Care: Applying sealants and fluoride to help protect teeth from decay. 
• Oral Health Education: Educating patients on proper brushing and flossing techniques, as well as other oral hygiene practices. 
• X-ray Procedures: Taking, developing, and reviewing dental x-rays to detect any abnormalities. 
  Charting and Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of patient care, treatment plans, and any findings. 
• Additional Responsibilities:
• Assisting the Dentist: Helping with minor procedures and managing the dental chair during dental treatments. 
• Sterilizing Instruments: Ensuring proper sterilization and hygiene of dental equipment. 
• Communicating with Patients: Discussing oral health concerns, answering patient questions, and promoting good oral hygiene practices. 
• Maintaining Records: Keeping accurate records of patient information, procedures, and treatment plans. 
• Scheduling: Scheduling patient appointments and follow-up visits. 

Do I get one hour appointments?

We schedule one hour appointments for adult prophies and adult maintenances.  Children get at least 30 minutes.  SRP's are booked for two hours.  Patient education and interaction are a key part of who we are.  With generous time comes expectations that you will be engaging, friendly, and informative to the patient.  You'll be a key part in the acceptance of treatment.  We expect our hygienists to inform our patients of current observations and potential needs.  We do not expect or allow our hygienists to diagnose or treatment plan--that's the doctor's job.  There's a nuance to this that we can explain in person at your interview.

Do I get an assistant?

Under rare circumstances, we condense our schedule to a 30 minute staggered assisted hygiene schedule.  You may occasionally be asked to see two patients within the same hour.  Most commonly that would be sibling children.  

Location, Location, Location

Our office is in the heart of Foothill Ranch, northern part of Lake Forest.  We are 10 minutes in from the Bake Pkwy exit on the 5 fwy near the 5/ 405 interchange.  Please consider that when you apply.  Out of consideration for traffic and family life balance, we will seek candidates who are 45 minutes drive away or less.  Ideally, we are looking for someone with a 30 minute commute or less.
