Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Phoenix, AZ

About Us Desert Foothills Dental is an established private practice in the Ahwatukee Foothills. What makes us unique is our focus on mindset . We are passionate about proving that a group of eclectic and diverse individuals can come together in a unified effort to provide personalized healthcare. We work in a modern office that values time-tested clinical standards while staying agile in an ever-changing industry. Our Core Values: Humble, Hungry, Heart We hire for mindset first. At Desert Foothills Dental, our culture is defined by three specific traits: Humble: We own our mistakes, are open to feedback, and do the right thingâespecially when itâs difficult. We practice "Radical Candor" (honest, respectful dialogue) and align with clinical standards without ego. Hungry: We are self-starters who show up prepared, drive results, and look for ways to improve the practice without being micromanaged. We take ownership of our growth and the patient experience. Heart: We bring emotional intelligence, steadiness, and respect to every interaction. We prioritize the patient relationship and team stability over ego or mood. The Role: The Ultimate "Utility Player" We are looking for a versatile, cross-trained professional to manage both the clinical and administrative flow of our practice. You are the bridge between the back and the front. One hour you might be assisting a doctor with a crown prep, and the next you might be presenting a financial plan or verifying insurance. The value of this role comes from your ability to make patients feel secure in the clinical chair and confident in understanding their financial investment. A Day in the Life The Start: Arrive by 7:00 AM â 7:15 AM to prepare for a high-energy morning huddle. Clinical Flow: Assist with restorative procedures, take high-quality X-rays, manage sterilization, and ensure rooms are flipped with precision. Administrative Flow: Utilize our tech stack ( Open Dental, Flex, Vyne ) to verify insurance, address claims/EOBs, and explain coverage to patients. The Bridge: Translate complex clinical diagnoses into clear financial arrangements so patients can say "Yes" to their health. Team Support: Work alongside a driven team where no one says, "Thatâs not my job." This Role Is for You If⦠You value variety: You get bored doing the same thing all day and love switching between clinical and admin tasks. You are "Bilingual" in Dentistry: You can explain a "DO" composite and a "Deductible" with equal ease. You crave Radical Candor: You prefer honest, direct, and kind communication over passive-aggressiveness. You are Detail-Oriented: Whether itâs a margin on a temporary crown or a digit in an insurance ID, you don't let the small things slide. This Role Is NOT For You If⦠You prefer working in a silo or "staying in your lane." You are uncomfortable discussing money or clinical needs with patients. You are resistant to new technology or frequent protocol updates. Requirements Experience: Previous Dental Assistant experience AND familiarity with Front Office duties (insurance/scheduling). Certifications: Arizona X-Ray Certification (Required). Tech Stack: Experience with Open Dental is highly preferred. Commute: Ability to reliably commute to Phoenix, AZ 85048.
