Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Assist the dentist during procedures such as examinations, restorations, and other general dentistry treatments. Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays, adhering to proper aseptic techniques. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review medical records for relevant health information to support comprehensive patient care. Follow infection control protocols diligently to maintain a sterile environment in accordance with OSHA standards. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating patient information, and managing dental records. Skills Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Experience in pediatric dentistry and pediatrics-related procedures is preferred. Skilled in four-handed dentistry techniques for efficient patient care delivery. Knowledge of vital signs monitoring, medical imaging techniques, and anatomy relevant to dentistry. Strong understanding of dental terminology, documentation review, and medical coding practices. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Ability to work collaboratively within a team as a chairside assistant supporting general dentistry procedures. Prior experience in dental office or clinic settings is highly desirable.
